No filters. Hey Friend, could we be fearless enough to sit with each other and God—to drop our filters and finally be free?

Can I ask you a question, please?

If I invited you to sit on the couch with me, what would we talk about?
Would you feel the need to filter things out of your story?
Could you leave in the hard parts so our conversation could go beyond just surface level friendship?

Is it possible to trust me with your ugly secrets for the sake of being free?

These are some of the questions God’s asked me in the past and He patiently waited for me to reply until I was ready. BUT life? Life isn’t quite so polite. You see life asks us really hard questions and demands a response. (Rude)

No matter how weary or tired or scared or uncooperative or uncomfortable the world’s questions are, we can march them straight to the Lord in prayer. We can boldly approach the throne of grace…plop ourselves down on the proverbial couch with our Counselor, Holy Spirit, and enter into the courts of heaven where Jesus intercedes on our behalf.

Something beautiful happens here. Unfiltered…

Me: “This. This right here. I need to talk about this. Because this is breaking my heart. This is uprooting me. This is going to undo me. This is what I NEED…not want to talk to You about, Jesus…”
sobbing, nervously laughing, or maybe somewhere in between…

“Lord, can You fix this? Mold it and make it into something that is worthy…something worthwhile…something useful?”

Sigh.Selah.Shalom.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Inhale. Exhale. Let it all out. Repeat.

God: Breathe Me In.

Breathe All That Out.

🙏 Lord, help me with this, so I can have that. Amen 🙏

What I want. Only that which comes from Your hand—that which You’ve sifted. That which will make me stronger in the end.
What will it require? Surrender. Every burden laid down.
What is the reward? Peace.

Every offense forgiven. Restoration. More of You. Revival. A fresh fire ignited. Yes, that—all of it. All of You. 🙌 This is where deep calls out to deep.
