How to Walk in the Freedom of Your Destiny and Calling
This one’s for the girl who’s been knocked down and counted out, left not just thinking, but truly believing she’ll never find her God-given destiny, her calling.
Sweet friend, there’s hope for you today. I’ve been there, thinking, and yes, believing the lazy lies of the enemy. Sadly, the enemy’s lies originated in the Garden. Still, he hasn’t come up with anything new…ever. Without a doubt, He’s still lazily using the same old lies to steal, kill, and destroy.
Don’t be mislead…there’s a very real enemy and he’s after your calling.
He’s longing to steal our destiny, kill our testimony, and destroy our spiritual territory.
“You’re too old…or too young.”
“You missed the boat.”
“That’s impossible.”
“No one sees you.”
“No one hears you.”
“It’s too late and no one else cares.”
Sound eerily familiar? They do to me. Please don’t think for a moment I haven’t believed those lies. Every. Single. One. Because, I have sweet friend…hook, line, and sinker.
How about you?
Perhaps, you’ve simply surrendered to feeling lifeless. Tragically, every dream has died before it was ever given birth. And, worse yet, you feel like a part of you has died right along with them. Where you once had a pulse, maybe even a passion, you can’t seem to find your sweet spot where you come alive.
Hopeless girl, confused sister, here’s the truth about your calling.
First, you were uniquely designed by God and you have a God-given destiny. Secondly, as a daughter of the King, you’ve got an inheritance and it’s a mighty big one! Thirdly, you have a piece of property with your name written on it.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Psalm 16:5 (ESV)
Most importantly, the enemy doesn’t want you to believe it, find it, or live it.
A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow! John 10:10 (TPT)
I’ve been there, unsure of my calling…
Trembling in fear, I was afraid to walk in my authority, definitely commissioned, but unable to step into that something new which felt too big to be true, too grand to be mine. Fear tried to keep me from staking my claim in the Kingdom. Similarly, shame kept me paralyzed and unable to take possession of what was rightfully mine.
However, I found the key to unlock the mystery of my demise. Intimacy with my Father changed everything and it will for you too.

Without hesitation, take the first step into the chambers of the King. Don’t worry daughter, you’ll be welcomed there. Our Daddy is the King and the King’s got our back. Frankly, He’s got your calling under control and He’ll quiet your every fear. At just the right moment, you’ll know what it is He’s purposed you to do because there’s a sweet spot marked out just for you on the Kingdom calendar.
Into His presence is exactly where you need to go when you can’t comprehend your calling or you’re still pondering your purpose.
Here’s what God’s got to say about you today. And, yes, He’ll still be singing the same tune tomorrow. In fact, Zephaniah 3:17 says He’s singing over you right now.
The Lord your God is with you;
his power gives you victory.
The Lord will take delight in you,
and in his love he will give you new life.
He will sing and be joyful over you… Zephaniah 3:17 (GNT)
Truthfully, there’s only one Voice that calms your fears and quickens your confidence. As a daughter of the King, His Word stands. It’s the law of the land. Kingdom culture demands His decrees are to be heard and established in the land. Even the enemy knows this is true.
Fortunately, each one of us has eternity set (placed) into our hearts by God. Before the foundation of the world, God ordained and numbered our days. Undeniably, He purposed us to know Him.
“But you are my witnesses.” God’s Decree.
“You’re my handpicked servant
So that you’ll come to know and trust me,
understand both that I am and who I am.” Isaiah 43:10 (MSG)
Through intimacy with the Father we come to realize we are chosen and known. Therefore, we trust more easily and begin to more deeply understand. We come alive again. We believe again.
Stepping into our God-given destiny, we find our purpose, our calling.
As I’m always saying, “…we already have everything we need living inside of us.” I can’t help it, it’s my mantra; it’s the truth. God put it there.
“I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord. Ezekiel 37:14 (NASB)
But, the question lingers still. I know, sweet girl, I can hear you asking me now, “How can I truly begin to know, trust, and believe in my calling?”
Remember? You’ve been uniquely designed for a purpose. God said so. Remember? You not only know, but you are known.
You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside
and my intricate outside,
and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex!
Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking.
It simply amazes me to think about it!
How thoroughly you know me, Lord! Psalm 139:13-14 (TPT)
You are mysteriously complex and uniquely designed.
[bctt tweet=”We were made to find the mystery of how God made us. I’m alive for a reason~ I can’t worship You if I’m dead. Psalm 6:5 (VOICE) On the blog at http://amyelaine.com Taking the Mystery Out of Your Calling ” username=”amyelainewrites”]
He gives us little clues that draw us closer to Him where He whispers our identity and destiny into our hearts. We won’t find it in the world, but in the Word. You are uniquely His and He wants you to know and believe it.
Listen, finding your ‘sweet spot’ isn’t always easy. But I promise you, if you press in and listen to what God says, He’ll tell you. He’s not trying to keep secrets from you. But, He knows if He’s not the One to tell you, you’ll never really know and believe you truly are uniquely designed.
Fortunately, we’re in good company. David also despaired while trying to figure out his destiny and calling. He’d been drenched with the anointing oil and ordained years before He ever walked in his full God-given destiny.
Reassuringly, in Psalm 6:5, we find David pleading with the Lord. While David’s longing to know was a little more drastic than ours, it’s no less worthy of a plea.
I’m alive for a reason—I can’t worship You if I’m dead.
Psalm 6:5 (VOICE)
Surely, we all want to live out our purpose and our calling. Unfortunately, if we’re dead; well…we can’t.
Likewise, when we believe all our dreams are dead, we need to be shaken up and revived. We need a fresh anointing, don’t we? We need God to breathe new life into our dry bones and come alive again. (see Ezekiel 37) We need to rise up from the ashes and battle it out for our destiny. However, the enemy doesn’t want us to have it, so there’s sure to be a fight!
As a matter of fact, I’ve been there too.
Truly, I can remember times when I’ve cried out, ”Really, God, why am I still here?” Yet, when I’ve drawn close, leaned in, and listened, I’ve clearly heard the voice of the Master. And, I believe you will too.
Surprisingly, when we ask, God shares the mysterious complexities of how He made us exactly the way we are on purpose. And, He also prepares us for our purpose. Why? Because it’s really His purpose. He, alone, knows. So, ask Him. Begin looking for the clues and hunting down the hints. See what makes you come alive. For sure, it will have eternal value. Lastly, know this; it will be sweet, not always easy, but definitely sweet.
Finally, you’ll comprehend your calling and demystify your destiny.
Finally, you’ll know. This is where I belong. This. Is. My. Sweet. Spot. After all, it’s really all about His glory. In the end, that’s what makes it so sweet.
Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God’s grace. For example, if you have a speaking gift, speak as though God were speaking his words through you. If you have the gift of serving, do it passionately with the strength God gives you, so that in everything God alone will be glorified through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 4:10-11 (TPT)
