Rejoice! He is risen! Happy Easter Sunday!

I read the Resurrection Story again this weekend and these words fell afresh on my heart. What I love about John’s account in Chapter 20 is verses 8-10. After finding the tomb empty, verse 9 says the disciple who got their first (the one who ran the fastest) saw and believed. Though he didn’t understand all “the Scriptures meant…” nor did he know what to do. They had no idea what this comeback meant, but they believed. Then in verse 10, the GW translation says, “So, the disciples went back home.”

🌸🌸H O M E let that sink in. 🌸🌸

All of us at some point need to be reminded that what we really need is to come back home—to find our safest place in this world is coming back to Christ. We may not fully understand Who He is for us or what He’s done on our behalf, but we know it’s time to come back to our Creator—to the One who loved us enough to die for us…to make a way for us to come close and be known. Just as we are, scars and flaws and doubts and misunderstandings…this is my prayer for you this Easter: May you find your way back to the intimacy you’ve never known or might have forgotten…that you would draw close to Christ because when we do, He comes closer still. Sunday is here sweet friend. Let Him have His way in your heart and life. May you return to the sacred spaces of being still with God and knowing He is for you. May you fully believe that He is good and has good plans for you. In Jesus’ powerful name I pray, Amen.
