Like a bouquet of flowers with many wonderful and intoxicating smells, Holy Spirit beckons us to come, sit, linger with Jesus. He draws us in through all of our senses, knowing exactly what tweaks our interest because we’ve been made in the image of God- He knows us. You can’t spend time in His Presence and leave unchanged. We come away transformed; our time spent with Him is sweet.

Intimacy with God creates the sweetest smelling aroma of sacrifice and the incense of praise offered up to heaven is irresistible. It’s what we’re made for in this life and beyond. Our lives become a living sacrifice of praise in response to the foul smell of blood poured out on the Cross. Death literally stinks; it’s repugnant. Yet, because of what Jesus did on the cross for us there is the hope of new life.

Living on this side of the cross, we are offered abundant life because of the Resurrection. Jesus triumphed over sin & death, once & for all, & we are the recipients of that mercy, love, & grace.

🤔What is our response to God’s mercy, love, and grace?

Simple Truth: We’re called to be a living sacrifice—called to a life of holiness. It’s not anything we do ourselves, it’s all God; Holy Spirit in us brings about the transformation. He draws the sweetness out…there’s always something blooming with God.
