Sometimes the most fearless feat is to stand still
Sometimes the most fearless feat is to stand still while God works out the details of our lives—lining up our destiny so that at just the right moment, we are made ready to move
forWARD,
upWARD,
onWARD,
toWARD
the adventure He has planned.
A legacy lives in the latter part of those words…WARD (happens to be my maiden name)…
At some point in my grief journey, God impressed upon my heart after losing Mom and waiting (and emotionally wading) through the long days of grieving…it was time to get back up again…to fearlessly get going again—to continue to leave the legacy she tirelessly pursued for me.
Now it’s my turn to pave the way for those who come behind me—to be the trailblazer God meant for me (and you) to be…to make my life point to Jesus —all for His glory…just like she did for me.
On a particularly difficult day while caregiving for Mom, she sat still, holding my then 2 year old granddaughter in her feeble lap and just sang, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus…” over and over again over sweet little Raelynn. It dawned on me afterward, this was my mother’s legacy—she sang, prayed, taught, pointed to, and lived out Jesus over us, all our days.
My prayer for you today is simple:
Jesus over you…in all things…
May you fearlessly pursue Him
and live out the legacy and destiny He placed in you. Amen. 🙏
💛 AEM
Perhaps standing still is the most powerful call on our lives as it prepares our hearts for the greater things God has planned for us to do. If you’re in a waiting season—a wilderness of sorts…know this God’s timing is perfect and the wilderness isn’t the wasteland the enemy wants you to believe.
Stand still, darling. Eyes on Jesus. Everything else will work its way out in His hands…
