A Walk on Wednesday

”You’re blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God." Psalm 119:1

”You’re blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God. You’re blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him. That’s right—you don’t go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set. You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it. Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set; Then I’d never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel. I thank you for speaking straight from your heart; I learn the pattern of your righteous ways. I’m going to do what you tell me to do; don’t ever walk off and leave me.“ ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

We’re going to break this down for the next couple of days…

Blessed - happy, content, on course with

When we’re walking with God, we will experience contentment as a result. There is also a sense of being on course with, at one with, our Creator. Today, I want us to think about how walking with God is more desirable than going against the grain with Him. Life is difficult enough here; why would we want to be at odds with God’s way?

When we are walking against the wind, we have to push through a barrier, use more energy, and work harder than if we are walking with the wind. The Spirit of God is likened to wind numerous times in the Bible. Holy Spirit is the wind gently pushing us along, the breath of God in our lungs, the way we stay on course with God.

Breathe in Holy Spirit today. Walk with God. Let the refreshing wind of the Spirit blow through your life today giving you a fresh perspective on what’s going on around you.

What looks different when you look through God’s eyes instead of your own?

How can this fresh perspective give you clarity in that certain situation, your current circumstances, or the chaos that surrounds?

I’d love to hear your thoughts below.

The very act of taking a walk refocuses us on what God is up to in our lives—though we may not understand, we can trust His way.

Feeling “blessed” —happy or content?
